It does not clip well on a laptop. Too much clamping force for a touchscreen. The light portion works great and provides nice lighting.

I like to keep my home office semi-dark even during the day, which makes it difficult to see my keyboard. I’ve tried a bunch of lighting products, but none of them were easy to use or did what I needed. When I saw these, a lightbulb went off—of course! So, I gave them a try and, to my delight, found that these were exactly what I needed.I attached the lights above two of my monitors, and they do an excellent job of illuminating my desk and keyboard, not my eyes. They have a couple of basic adjustments—on and off, dimming, and color temperature—which is all I need. I haven’t had any issues with the clamps that hold the lights firmly atop each monitor, and the kit also includes a small controller to turn the light bars on and off and adjust the color temperature. What an improvement—my desk never looked so good! I’ve ordered one more for my third monitor, and I’m eager to put it to use! Recommended.

My laptop screen is very thin so it didn’t fit at first but all I did was add a small piece of foam to make up for the space. Not a fault of the lamp. I do wish you could dim it but not necessary. Overall amazing light and serves its purpose!

I originally bought this for my laptop but I will be purchasing another one just for travel.
